Workday Update

Double Deck Cars

The missing electrical parts have been provided by the team at Flemington Maintenance Centre after much searching of cupboards and boxes. the parts are now installed and we have lights on in all three cars.

W Set

We are continuing with the work on the W Set. One car is currently being sanded in preparation for a repaint while work has started on the rusted out gutters of the motor cars.

Our painters have recently put the last coat of silver frost on the roof and the last coat of cream around the windows. The little loco looks brand new! All that is needed is for our signwriter to put the numbers on the Observer's cab side and the loco will finally be finished.

Around The Shed

We have puchased some aluminium scaffolding to help us work on the trains as well as the building. It is a much more user friendly system than what we were using before and hopefully the "up high" jobs will be finished a lot quicker in future.

Model Railway News

Our HO gauge layout, Electric Car Sheds, is now in semi retirement. HET must commit to the running of Heritage Set F1, as well as working on the trains stored at Redfern. We have applied to exhibit the layout at the Caulfield model Railway Exhibition in Victoria in August, but as yet we have not been notified by the organisers if we have been accepted.
